Dear Families,
We are thrilled to announce that we are gauging interest for our Vex Robotics programs for the 2026-2027 school year! Vex Robotics offers students an incredible platform to design, build, and program robots while competing in high-energy engineering challenges.
Whether your student is interested in VEX IQ (Middle School) or VEX V5 (High School), we want to see who is ready to join the team.
Please let us know if your student is interested by filling out the Google Form.
This is an initial interest check and does not guarantee a spot on a team. Official registration and tryout information will follow in August.

Yearbook orders due by March 20th.

The Genoa Middle School Robotics Club proudly competed in their first-ever VEX Robotics competition, hosted by North Point ESC at Margaretta. Our students took part in a series of team-based challenges against schools including Edison, Margaretta, Clyde, and Port Clinton.
Their hard work paid off as Genoa teams earned an impressive sweep of the podium, finishing first, second, and third overall.

This free app (available on both Android and Apple devices) is the main way to receive updates from teachers and engage in two-way communication with school staff.
If you haven’t downloaded the app yet or need help getting set up, please contact our Technology Department, Bethany Foos (bafoos@genoaschools.com) or Tom Baker (tdbaker@genoaschools.com). We want to make sure all families are connected and informed!

This year, our middle school robotics program is taking on a new format with VEX IQ.
✅ Students interested in joining must complete the Robotics Team Application (Google Form).
✅ A maximum of 20 students will be selected for the team.
✅ Students will be expected to build, program, and execute the games task.
✅ Selected students are expected to attend all practices and competitions.
📅 Competitions:
We will participate in four competitions this school year, all held during the school day. Students will be working in teams and competing against other school districts. All classwork missed on competition days will still be the student’s responsibility to make up.
