Brian Cannon and wife

It is an honor to serve as the new principal of Genoa High School. With 25 years of experience in education—16 of those in administration and the last nine as a high school principal—I am excited to bring my passion and dedication to the students, staff, and community of Genoa Area Local Schools.

My goal is to work collaboratively with families, staff, and community partners to ensure every student has the opportunity to make the most of their high school years—academically, socially, and personally. Together, we will build and sustain a positive and inclusive culture where students feel supported, challenged, and prepared for their future.

At the heart of our work will be a commitment to excellence and a belief that the next four years can be some of the best in our students’ lives. I am dedicated to creating an environment where students thrive, staff feel valued, and families are engaged every step of the way.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my wonderful family. My wife, Sara, is a 7th grade science teacher, and we are proud parents of three amazing kids: Carter, a junior at Perrysburg High School; Tyler, a junior at Maumee High School; and Leah, a freshman at Perrysburg High School. When I’m not cheering them on in their athletic events, you’ll likely find me on the golf course.

I look forward to the journey ahead and am proud to be part of the Genoa Comet family!
