Tuesday September 7, 2010:
Objective(s): Students review lab safety symbols.

Materials Needed: Chart WKST, lab safety symbols pictures for game, Safety Symbols Paired Activity.

Standard: Choose the appropriate tools and instruments and use relevant safety procedures to complete scientific investigations.

Class Work:
Bell work: Pass out chart to students. Students begin chart.
Review homework.
Begin using symbols as “flashcards”
Explain activity to students.
Students complete books.

Homework: Students complete books.

Wednesday September 8, 2010:

Objective(s): Students will analyze and demonstrate proper handling of microscopes.

Standard: Choose the appropriate tools and instruments and use relevant safety procedures to complete scientific investigations.

Materials Needed: microscopes, activity WKSTs.

Class Work:
Bell Work: Chart
Model proper care of a microscope.
Students label microscope WKST.
Use remaining time to work at stations.

Homework: Study safety symbols and microscopes

Thursday September 9, 2010:

Objective(s): Students will review information for test.

Standard: Choose the appropriate tools and instruments and use relevant safety procedures to complete scientific investigations.

Materials Needed: lab symbols.

Class Work:
Bell work: Chart
Play review game.

Homework: STUDY FOR QUIZ

Friday September 10, 2010:

Objective(s): Assess students' knowledge.

Standard: Choose the appropriate tools and instruments and use relevant safety procedures to complete scientific investigations.

Materials Needed: Quiz

Class Work:
Pass out Quiz to students.
Answer questions.
Students complete quiz
Collect quiz
