“Tell me, and I forget.
Teach me, and I remember.
Involve me, and I learn…”
Academic success is strongly linked to students’ health. Hunger, physical and emotional abuse and chronic illness can lead to poor performance in schools. The importance of adopting healthy behaviors during youth can’t be overstated because children who adopt healthy behaviors have a better chance of carrying those behaviors into adulthood. Healthy students learn better!
We have implemented a variety of activities for “healthy” choices in the school’s cafeteria and strive to encourage a healthy lifestyle in staff and students. Our cafeteria is providing a Healthy Breakfast daily to any students. The Brunner Breakfast begins at 8:00am in the school cafeteria. It features a “warm” breakfast – 3 days a week such as waffles, muffins or pop tarts. The kitchen also serves cereals – Frosted Flakes, Rice Krispies, Cocoa Puffs and cereal bars. All breakfast comes with juice and milk and is $1.25. Everyone is welcome! Students on “free” lunches may get a “free” breakfast.

Sitting down and eating together as a family is an effective means of maintaining the bond between parent and child.
