I attended the NPESC meeting Monday morning in Sandusky. A presentation (VLN Partners) on a new model for K-12 distance learning or online curriculum for students was delivered. The intent of the online curriculum is to lure ECOT and home education students back to home school where he/she will receive a diploma. The program is similar to our VLA program but implements our curriculum If their numbers are accurate our school district has lost $1.09 million dollars to full time online schools since the 2002-03 SY. This year alone: $161, 182.
I have scheduled a meeting for their staff to discuss their program on Friday, February 24th at 1:00 PM to discuss their program.
The Comet Communicator March/April will be delivered by the end of this month. The final issue will be a May/June issue.
Best of luck to all of the winter athletic teams as they prepare for their tournaments starting this weekend ! Also, Thanks to Maria, Cari and all the volunteers for their efforts with the Cheer for a Cure event tomorrow.
