Any senior interested in being a part of the Flower and Motto Committee should sign up outside of Ms. Scheanwald's room or in Mrs. Szozda's room. Attendance for both meetings is required in order to be a part of the committee. The meeting dates will be Tuesday, September 23rd and Friday, September 26th. Both meetings will be held in Ms. Scheanwald's room during Meeting Time. Any students that attend Penta and would like to be apart of the committee please get ahold of Ms. Scheanwald before Monday, September 22nd.
There will be an FCA Power Prayer in the High School gym Friday right after school and the next meeting will be Sunday, Sept 28 at 6 @ the Sutters.
A reminder to student drivers: during football season/marching band season the band practice area North of the athletic complex is off limits to student drivers during the school day – whether cones are out or not. Please abide by this simple request.
Attention Spanish Honor's Society Members: There will be a meeting, Friday, September 19th during meeting period in room 215. We will be electing officers and deciding our agenda for the year. All members should attend. If you have any questions, see Mrs. Szepiela.
A major DEADLINE is approaching for those wishing to travel to Washington D.C. & New York City next June! Pricing for the trip will be recalculated in October! That means, if you want to get in at the price advertised now, you MUST enroll before October 1! If you wait and enroll later than that, the price is very likely to be higher! See Mr. Dempster, Mr. Liwo or Miss Fox for more information!
Seniors: Katie Palagano, Admissions Counselor from The University of Findlay will be visiting Genoa High School during meeting period on Monday, September 22. She will be in the conference room. Students interested in Findlay are encouraged to attend!
All Students - Paul Smith, from the University of Toledo's Office of Undergraduate Admission will visit on Tuesday, September 23rd during all lunch waves. Paul will have information on undergraduate colleges, extracurricular activities, Division I Athletics, and their Health Science Campus, as well as provide information on costs, financial aid, and scholarships. Be sure to approach him to find out what you need to know!
Attention Freshmen & Staff: Just a reminder, there will be a Freshman Class Meeting on Wednesday, September 24th, starting at 1:40 pm. There will be an announcement to release all Freshmen to the Auditorium. The meeting will last for approximately 25 minutes.

Congressman Bob Latta invites young men and women from our area to apply for one of our nation's US Military Service Academies. United States Service Academy Nomination Applications can be found at http://latta.house.gov under the constituent services link.
Congressman Latta is also hosting an academy information night on Thursday, September 25th at Findlay High School's Cafeteria, 1200 Broad Avenue, Findlay, Ohio at 7pm. All interested students and their parents are invited to attend. An overview of the nomination process will be discussed and representatives from the US Military Academy at West Point, the US Naval Academy at Annapolis, the US Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs, the US Coast Guard Academy and the Merchant Marine Academy will be present to talk with students about the outstanding opportunities available to them at their respective academies.

The Genoa Area Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a Logo/Motto contest.
$250 for the winning “Village of Genoa” Motto and $250 for the winning “Genoa Area Chamber of Commerce” Logo. Deadline for entries is September 30 by 4pm. More information can be found on the forms rack located near the office.
Congratulations to the JV golfers whom defeated Woodmore and Eastwood in a tri-match yesterday at Hidden Hills Golf Club. Sam Ellithorpe posted a 44, Mason Hogan 48, Jack Encheff and Mitchell Claus 49, Trent Davis and Spencer Mullins 51, Lohgan Mazur a 56. They will face Woodmore on Monday at Chippewa and finish out their season at Legacy Golf Course on Wednesday.
