Student News:

The Drama Club is excited to announce this year’s Fall play, “Night Chills”, a collection of Edgar Allen Poe stories sure to send a chill down your spine!

 

Auditions for the show will be Tuesday from 3-4:30 in the auditorium.

 

Actors will be asked to read a scene from the script and participate in an improve scene.

 

Hope to see old and new members there!

Attention high school students interested in Quiz Bowl.   Come to an informational meeting after school on Tuesday, Sept. 1 in Mr. Larsen's room, B3, in the middle school.

Any NHS member wishing to get community service hours this Friday at the football game by placing flyers on cars needs to see Mrs. Cannon ASAP.

if you are a junior or senior student...we are offering 4 (2 hour) ACT prep courses.  The cost is $100 for all 4 class days and the registration deadline is 9/11.  The Monday classes will be offered here at the HS from 7-9 pm on Sept. 21, 28 and Oct. 12, 19. Please email or contact Mrs. Buehler to reserve your spot.  Side note...these dates do not conflict with any sporting events and are a must if a child wants to increase their ACT scores.  Remember ACT scores and GPA drives scholarship dollars, therefore we are encouraging our students to invest the time.

Attention Spanish Honor's Society members: There will be a meeting Tuesday, September 1st in the library during meeting period. We will be electing officers and planning our events this year. All members should plan on attending. See Mrs. Szepiela if you have any questions.

There is a meeting for all Seniors in the auditorium during meeting period.

 

Morning Choir begins next Monday, August 31st at 7:10 am.  See Mr. Edwards for more details.

 

Reminder to all students who purchased a Comet Crazy shirt from a Limelight student:  Please remember your money is due today.

All students who traveled to Washington, D.C. & New York City this past June who have not yet stopped by Mr. Dempster's room for your disk of trip photos, please do so as soon as possible!

 

Interested in learning life-lessons from a banking perspective?  Join the GenoaBank | Bank Board, where we will cover a wide range of financial and economic topics including the functions of banking, banking services, borrowing, saving, investing, and the Federal Reserve system.

 

Seniors Only | Targeted towards student pursuing in Economics, Finance or Business Degree.

The commitment is once a month for one-hour during 5-6-7.

Parking pass forms are available on the forms rack outside of the office.  Passes are to be purchased by today.  Cost is $10.

Sports:

Congratulations to the Varsity Girls Soccer team on defeating Cardinal Stritch last night by a score of 3-0.  Great job Lady Comets!


A huge Congratulations to the Varsity Boys Soccer Team on their victory over Lake last night by a score of 2-1. The team and coaches would like to thank all of the students and fans that were in attendance. It was a great atmosphere.


The Varsity Football team will be in action tonight at home against Villa Angela St Joseph. Kick off is slated for 7:00 pm. Please come out and cheer the guys to a victory.

Reminder to all students: Cost for Varsity games is $2.00. Also, for home football games there are bleachers in the West end zone. You must also stay on top of asphalt area not on the grass and please clean up your area after the game.

Reminder to all football players:  Please park in the bus compound tonight and please do not park behind the middle school prior to your pre game meal. Thank you.


Attention seniors: Are you ready to start those community service hours yet?  Mr. Thomas has a list posted next to his office for your name. There are many times and dates.   Lets go, get it done.
